Electronics System for Maximizing Energy from Solar Cell (Prototype)

Prototype of an Electronics System designed for improving the efficiency of a solar device by maximizing the energy extracted from a Photovoltaic (PV) element.

The system uses a selected topology of two solar cells (individual, series or parallel), an auxiliary processing circuit for obtaining and adjusting the input/output signals, an mbed MCU for implementing the control algorithms and a notebook running a MATLAB script for displaying the performance of the system and its results.

Project based on Extremum Seeking algorithms and their application to energy generation with photovoltaic devices. This study has been part of my Final Project at UFRJ and its detailed report can be found (in Portuguese) at:
